Step 1: ARE We Right for YOU?

We love to get to know you. We begin with an introductory call to hear about why upgrading your your balcony or terrace is important to you and you will learn what we can do for you. By the end of the call, we’ll know if The Beautiful Balcony and Terrace Solution™ is the right fit for you. 

Step 2: Your Needs and Options

To understand the details of your wants and needs, we’ll spend 60-90 minutes with you in the comfort of your home or by video conference. We'll explore all that you imagine an ideal balcony or terrace could be, your lifestyle and your personal style. We’ll get the specifics of your outdoor space and do some studio research on the possible constraints.  And then we’ll outline your options and give you an idea of the approximate cost to transform your balcony or terrace. Your Needs & Options Report outlines what we discussed, your preliminary decisions and the next steps in the process. You decide at this point if you want to continue.

Step 3: Personalize Your chosen Design

Your balcony or terrace transformation truly begins when you choose a design you love. Your Design Concierge will make sure it is adjusted to your actual balcony shape and size, and personalized to your wants and needs. 

How much you want to do? Start with decking - natural wood, stone or both? just a few or a lot of  lights? grasses, or sedges or boxwoods? Then add optional components - a mirror, heater, or trellis. Your Design Concierge will propose the ideal furniture layouts, and suggest furniture and accessories that match your style preference and fit your space. In other words, your Design Concierge will manage the entire process for you.

You'll receive a Design Brief complete with sketches and illustrations showing your outdoor space transformed with your chosen materials, optional components and suggested furniture, and the estimated the final cost.

Step 4: Board/council Approval 

Your Condo Board or Strata Council will need to approve your plans before we can go ahead together. But don’t worry – we've done this before! Garden Connections makes sure your project complies with your condo corporation’s rules and regulations. We handle all the details of preparing your application and, with your signature, we submit it for approval to your Condo Board or Strata Council.

Step 5: Fabrication & Installation - DECISION TIME

Fabrication of your balcony components takes place off-site, with no disruption or inconvenience to you. Your Design Concierge remains your point of contact throughout the process. We'll let you know once everything needed for your balcony or terrace is ready, to set a date to install. Installation normally takes 2 – 5 days to complete, depending on the size and complexity of your project. Install is more like putting together the pieces of a puzzle than construction, with tweaking and adjusting, to get the fit right. 

Step 6: Enjoy a beautiful outdoor living experience!

Celebrate the transformation of your new balcony or terrace. Invite your family and friends over to share the experience with you.

When you need us, Garden Connections will be there. We’ll keep in touch to offer you periodic maintenance services, help you decorate for a special event, or select new accessories.
